WHERE: Marian, North Carolina
WHAT: A restaurant famous for their indigenous (like indigenous food!) North Carolina pork barbecue AND the fact that Obama stopped here on his bus tour through the state. (His picture is one of the first things you see when you walk in.) The atmosphere is down-home friendly with a long, white-railinged, rocking-chair covered porch. Inside, the place is family-friendly casual.
I had a barbequed-pork sandwich which was very good, hash browns which were very good and red slaw (indigenous). I’m sure the slaw was very good, too, but not my favorite.
KID FACTOR: Absolutely great place for kids and there were, in fact, many kids around.
