Cherry Blossoms

Back in March, 1912, Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo City, Japan gave a gift of cherry trees to the Washington D.C. as a symbol of the friendship growing between the two cities. Now, every spring visitors to the city enjoy the Cherry Blossom Festival. This was a big deal to me – to think we would possibly be there while the trees were blossoming …

Alas …

We weren’t. We were there about a week too early.

However, we did find a couple trees … enough to say we had seen a cherry tree blossom in the spring – in Washington D.C. …

Not a lot of cherry trees in bloom - but a few of them. Probably enough to say we saw a Washington D.C. cherry tree in blossom.
